The Dowco Triumph Street Pipe Band returned to Scotland once again in August 2011 to compete at the World Pipe Band Championships. The band won the Grade 1 morning qualifier with two 1st place finishes in piping and in the final, placed 6th in the Medley and 10th in the MSR. Overall, DTSPB is now ranked 9th in the World, moving up three placings from last year, and finished 2011 with a top 6 ranked pipe corps. All three of the band’s performances were broadcast live by the BBC and can be viewed by clicking on the links below:               While in Scotland, DTSPB was also very pleased to perform in George Square as part of the Piping Live! festivities. Congratulations to pipers Scott Wood (age 18), Aaron Stone (age 16) and Joseph Stewart (age 16) who were invited to compete in Pipe Idol and performed extremely well during this week-long competition featuring some of the World’s most talented young pipers.
