2010 George Sherriff Memorial Invitational Two of our newest pipers, Marshall German and Alexander Schiele were two of only twelve amateur pipers in North America to be invited to the George Sherriff Memorial Invitational Amateur Competition held on Saturday November 20, 2010. The event took place one week after their successful trip to the Balmoral Classic. Marshall placed 5th in both the 6/8 March and the Piobaireachd competitions while Alexander placed 6th in the 6/8 March competition.

"The Sherriff" is a widely respected competition of the top amateurs in Canada and the United States and it is a significant honour just to be invited. The event takes place each year in Hamilton, Ontario. We congratulate Marshall and Alexander on placing so well at this prestigious competition. Other DTSPB members who have competed at the Sherriff include Liz Dunsire (4th overall 2009), Alison Dunsire (4th overall in 2000) and Micah Babinski, who won 1st overall at the event in 2006.
