April 1, 2010 - Vancouver, B.C.
After the busy Olympic Season, the Dowco Triumph Street Pipe Band celebrated with a successful St Patrick’s Day Fundraiser at the Port Moody City Hall.
It was a family ceilidh, with performers ranging in age from tots to seniors! It was wonderful to see the collaboration of pipers, drummers and dancers
from so many different groups and pipe bands from the Pacific Northwest. Thanks to everyone who helped make this evening possible! (And thanks to Weatherly
and Craig for the photos)
Then the 2010 competitive pipe band season began with the Annual Indoor Gathering, where the full band competed in the Grade 1 Medley and MSR. It was a great
warm-up for the band’s first outdoor competition on May 29-30, at ScotsFest 2010 in Costa Mesa, California. There’s still time to book your tickets for a long
weekend of pipe band watching in the sun!
Then the band will compete in some local BCPA Highland Games - Bellingham, Coquitlam, Mount Vernon, Portland and Seattle - before flying off to Scotland for the
2010 World Pipe Band Championships in August.
February 28, 2010 - DTSPB completes 2010 Olympic experience

The Dowco Triumph Street Pipe Band were there to play in the teams for both the game and medal ceremony, before an enthusiastic “Oh Canada singing” crowd which
included Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
The Canadian Women’s Curling team, led by Cheryl Bernard, won silver in their Gold Medal Match against Sweden. The Swedish team won 7-6 in an extra (nail biting)
end, before an enthusiastic crowd which included the King and Queen of Sweden and the Prime Minister of Canada.
The Dowco Triumph Street Pipe Band was the official pipe band for the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games curling events. With the entire band having played
for the opening ceremony for the curling event, and mini-bands marching in the athletes for three sessions each day for the Olympics and Paralympics, there were
57 appearances by the band by the end of the games!
Thanks to all the band members and “Olympic band members” for working so hard to make this 2010 Olympic event run so professionally.
