The Dowco Triumph Street Pipe Band headed to Ontario on July 30/08, to compete in the North American Championships at the Glengarry Games in Maxville, Ontario, on August 2nd.  After winning the 2007 Grade 2 North American Pipe Band Championship, and an upgrade to Grade 1 at the end of 2007, this competition marked the band’s first “Major” at the Grade 1 level.  And, it certainly was a memorable debut, complete with a wild thunder, lightning, wind and rain storm unlike anything most band members had witnessed.  The wild weather prompted an emotional long march to the competition circle, and an “electric” Medley performance (and many thanks for being alive!)
